If you want to have the flexibility of customization when you add subtitles to MP4 videos, you need to use video editing tools and not media players. We’ll talk about two video editing software you can use to add subtitles to MP4 videos and their features.
Using Movavi Video Converter
Movavi Video Converter is a good option if you want to use SRT subtitles. The software can also convert files into various formats, change video resolution, compress media, and more.
Step 1. Start by downloading Movavi. Download the installation file, open it, and just follow the instructions on the screen to install it.
Step 2. Next, upload your MP4 files by clicking Add Media and then Add Video. You can then select the right video.
Step 3. In the output information section, select No Subtitles. Click the Add Button and select your subtitles. If your video and SRT file have the same name and are in the same folder, the software will automatically suggest a subtitle track.
Click the Apply to All option if you want to add subtitles to all your chosen videos.
If you want the subtitles online, you can choose Search Online once you click Add. Click search in the dialogue box, and you’ll get a list matching your file’s metadata.
Step 4. Next, select MP4 in the Video tab. Check the resolution to see if you’re happy with the original size option- MP4 H.264. You can also select any other resolution that works better for you.
Step 5. Click the Save button to select where you want to save your video. By default, all videos are saved to the “Movavi Library” folder. Click Convert, and your SRT file will be added to the video. You can then transfer the video to your device or on a DVD.
Follow the same steps listed above to embed subtitles to videos in any format, such as MPEG, WMV, or MOV.
